@eniasqurku1 I don't know, maybe you can try some data recovery software. Data recovery software is really a good thing, MiniTool data recovery software is a good choice for you. It is easy to use and it is efficient.. some of the editions are absolutely FREE!!!!!!!!you can have a try.

My question is regarding the retrieval of a video file from my Windows enabled htc shadow phone. I synced it with my PC but for some reason when I have to select where to scan, there is no additional drive or location for the phone. The file was saved on the phone and not on an sd card. Any chance of recovery? Thanks in advance.

How do you avoid the message that saids: Do you want to restore to the same drive (This can reduce the chance of a successful recovery. I want to get my videos back and I'm worried that it will mess up.
COuld it be in symbol form because it overwrote itself? (If so, is all hope lost? I saved the recovered files to a folder on my desktop.) I can open recovered images, pdf files, and links just fine, but the documents are the ones that open incorrectly.

They are bigger, and more likely to be written over, so it could be.

Hey, I tried that, but when I open those files (word documents for example), the text is a whole bunch of symbols. Also video files cannot be opened...Damn, what do I do?

sometimes that happens if you wait to long, if it keeps happening try another one of the recover programs.

You could still *try to* recover the individual content.
