Ah so...sweet man. A+++++

@mrbigkell Thank you. I hope you're enjoying your life to the full. We were deeply fortunate to be alive then. I wish you peace and well-being.

@gnomely1 Very nicely said, and so true....halcyon days they were.

Good soft gentle song for a violent era, made us forget for awhile.

John Sebastian, true artist of the time of what were the modern day poets. It was a time of peace after wars but also living through Vietnam. Being 62 and thankfully never had to fight for THIS country? not mine anymore , just pleased to have lived in peace relatively. Reading the cynics views plus the bad language makes me wonder if those soldiers died for nothing. You people that appreciate give the world some hope, bless you.

Time to dig out The Lovin' Spoonful CDs - Magic!
(But I think I prefer The Critters version! - how goofy is that?!)

Feel the sweetness and the longing inside too, but I'm happy to be here today listening to it once more.
Thanks for the Lovin' Spoonful for having brought such sweetness and love into our lives. There are days when this song still echoes inside me and makes me feel happy to have been there, in the sixties. Those were great days, when our eyes spoke as much as our lips and we were happy inside, without even knowing it.
@ghanick It's difficult to explain the real 60s to those who weren't around. This song is evocative of a particular time, midway, and to just hear it play is to be back there. It wasn't as it's portrayed on TV in sound bites and clips. Less noise and traffic helped and there was less aggression. I enjoy my life now but I had a truly wonderful time then.. Halcyon days but they can't be brought back. Best left in our minds.
