April 30, 2009: Older sibling Hope pecks hours-old Echo. When food is short, an older chick might kill the smaller, weaker chick in the nest.

Wow what a tearjerker after having watched what Echo went through this week. What a magnificent eagle he would have become.

Yeah i was afraid that the older one may kill the younger one also.But at the sydney site the weak one there is holding it's own and it's #3

Same problem in the Sidney nest. Three chicks, and the third one is very small and is bullied by the older siblings. Doesn't look like he's getting enough to eat.

Wow! Pretty aggressive behavior for, what, 3 days out of the egg? I hope the little sibling eventually catches up and flogs the crap out of him.
I kow the rivalry can be intense, but let's hope there's enough food to go around, so they both have a chance.
