Lebanon Attacks IDF Trimming Hedges

One Israeli officer was killed during clashes between Israel and the Lebanese army along the border on Tuesday. Another Israeli officer sustained severe wounds. Lebanese and Israeli troops exchanged fire on the border Tuesday in the most serious clashes since a fierce war four years ago, and Lebanon said at least three of its soldiers and a journalist were killed in shelling. The violence apparently erupted over a move by Israeli soldiers to trim some hedges along the border, a sign of the level of tensions at the frontier where Israel fought a war in 2006 with the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Lebanese militia Hezbollah Islamic Jihad, said Tuesday that his organization would not stand silent if Israel attacked the Lebanese army in the future. I say honestly, that in any place where the Lebanese army will be assaulted and there's a presence for the resistance, and it is capable, the resistance will not stand silent, or quiet or restrained," Nasrallah told tens of thousands of supporters via video link. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Israel Defense Forces to firmly respond to any future Lebanese fire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after the incident that Israel views the attack on IDF soldiers with extreme severity. This is a blatant violation of United Nations Security Council resolution 1701 which ended the 2006 war between Israel and the Lebanese militia Hezbollah Islamic Extremists in southern Lebanon. The UN seems are human shields for terror. I see the Lebanese government as directly responsible for this violent provocation against Israel. The exchange of fire began when Israeli soldiers approached the border in order to trim some bushes that had grown along the fence. The operation had been coordinated in advance with UNIFIL French from France, which in turn informed the Lebanese army. The United States is extremely concerned about violence on the border between Israel and Lebanon, and urges both sides to exercise maximum restraint, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said. The IDF has revealed previously classified photographs to show what he said was a unit of 90 Hezbollah militants operating in the village of Al-Hiyam, where they were storing weapons close to hospitals and schools. Hezbollah is establishing itself with increasing strength in the villages. Every day they are collecting significant intelligence on our forces along the border and every day they are engaged in digging, building and laying communications infrastructure to prepare themselves for war. The IDF believes Hezbollah has an arsenal of some 40,000 short and medium range rockets stored in towns and villages south of the Litani. Syria loves this, Assad wants no peace. Turkey no doubt is helping the Islamic terror group. There will be a lot of propaganda by the Palestinian Western terror activists in our America, Canada, Britain, Netherlands and Europe. Urban warfare is coming. We'll see Jordan picking their arses, Saudia Arabia shitting their pants, Chavez will be scratching his balls in fury, Obama will be playing golf with Bono of U2, Libya fingering herself all in pain at Israel defending herself against wickedness.

IDF operated on Israeli territory! It was a routine operation and was coordinated with UNIFIL and Lebanese army in advance. UNIFIL admits it officially!

Lebanese snipers opened fire on soldiers standing on Israel soil, those soldiers weren't even directly envolved in the works!

Lebanan says the tree was on their side of the border...fact is the tree is in an area that lies between the 'blue line' [the internationally recognized border between Israel and Lebanon] and the Israeli security fence, thus within Israeli territory.

As I recall, Israel came in to accomplish 2 goals, to end hezbollah and get back their soldiers, but couldnt even reach 5% in 33 days, by which time a whole 7th Israeli brigade was destroyed and more missles had to be imported into israel cuz they ran out :s... u'v been watchin FOX news again.

We dont really care if our infastructure is destroyed, they're stone and steel. rebuilt em by the end of 2006, its the fact that we OWNED make us laugh when we watch such videos, trust me, I'd know ;)

Say whatever you want about this incident but are you serious when you say "Looks Like Lebanon wants to revisit 2006 when Israel kicked Hezbollah's asses" ??? It's true that Israel destroyed much of Lebanon's infrastructure with air strikes, but who kicked the others ass in south Lebanon? Hezbollah fighters made the life of the Israeli forces HELL in south Lebanon. Even Officially, Israel doesn't dare to say what you said.

And expect Hezbollah to be 100s of times stronger in the next war.
