@bombshellblonde544 it also helped with some funny references, because Mark survived and they put him in the second one. I really do like this one about the same as the second one, I just like that this one is more campy and amateurish. it makes the film seem a bit more comical to me because they weren't quite being as serious. also I think when they added the lightsaber, the shotgun and the dynamite at the end, it made things a little too ridiculous.

@way2jaded1 Waaaaay better, the first one was crap, though with a creepy villain, what with those tentacles coming out of his freaking ears. Second one had more d&d mythos, like the cleric of Obad-Hai for example, but these are by far the best d&d based movies I've ever seen! :)

@Jedic123 That's actually a good point! :D

@bombshellblonde544 part of it is also they hgad a budget for the 2nd film, and while its true the second fil mis better its nice how they focus more on the game in this one, mostly cuz the rl art of the second one are kinda akward

That ending just made the whole movie!! ^_^ I mean, the whole thing was pretty enjoyable but nothing spectacular, but the ending just upgraded it to FREAKING AWESOME! :D

I am with the folks that said the second one was better, but I think it helps that the acting was better, it was a full-length film, and the movie was based less on people arguing with the DM and more on the adventure and the conflict between story-gamers vs. power-gamers (Joanna/Lodge vs. Kess). I also liked the involvement of an NPC in the story. I really think the DM's use of NPCs in games helps out the story a lot, and that's coming from personal experience.
This one still rocks, though
