Rage Engine(Id Tech 5): HD 720p

I thought the other version was in HD, but it wasn't, so I decided to make a HD 720p version

@gabocrbll Yup, as per the average tech demo. (Rarely is that a good thing, and just so we're on the same page -- I'm not excusing anything. My hypothesis is, that hazy and indistinct art direction came about because there literally wasn't any such thing -- they were so (rightfully) proud of their engine, I think they insisted on letting absolutely everybody squeeze a bit of their vision into the game. Also, overly long parentheses FTW.)

@TheOtherLioyd Yes it seems that is easy creating content and its just very well optimized, rage runs fluid and u dont need a "big nasa pc" to run it. But the game itself is just BORING

This is impressive. I used to wonder what made id so proud of Rage -- now I know. It's not so much about Rage itself as everything surrounding it. A tech demo through and through. Can't wait to see just how awesome that freedom could allow Doom 4 to be.

@gabocrbll Still, the engine seems incredibly easy to make content for. Keeping it that way could be a HUGE asset for Doom 4, because user-created content is one of Doom 2's biggest strengths.

i could imagine minecraft looking with those textures and detail i mean why not minecraft is so leniar and blocky i am not saying its bad i am saying why not add some special stuff for it like bones lineag around some block textures rocks on grass bocks minecraft has a lot of block but they allmost look the same just diffrent sound and textures

Hey what program did you use and does this all include with the rage engine can you please make an extended tutorial on where to get these things where to buy it and how to design it also can you make a list with all the programs u need to make something like u made in the video? although the textures r great, the engine is still unrealistic.Cryengine 2 is much more realistic than id tech 5

This editor is horrible, its slow and tile based with procedural texture blending and 2 layer megatuxture taht probably takes up 100gb of hdd space.

Takes a sec to refresh every decal placement, and will probably crash the moment you try to change bigger regions at one moment
