Machinima of my sculpture Daddy (Venomous Constrictor) -
A painting I did when I was 16 and remembered and constructed in Second Life, where it won the Phi Designs Prize in the University of Western Australia's 3D Open Art Challenge June 2011.

The reading is done by Sylvia Plath of her own poem Daddy [http://www.internal.org/Sylvia_Plath/Daddy] written in 1962 and published in her posthumous collection Ariel (1965)

  • thank you AviewT, a very flattering compliment!

  • Thanks guys!

2Sense: a high compliment; ty. The poem, and Sylvia, have been a central part of my life for many years. The music track is mine; worked with the sounds for several days to try to do justice to her words. I am always surprised that her voice is not as bitter as, say, Wm Burroughs' while reading this...

Sorry about the def; my computer won't do both resolution for Second Life and HD capture at the same time :(

  • Thanks Ginger; this is the first release so you didn't miss anything :)

  • thanks cff!

  • thanks Jayjay :)

  • Sylvia's voice and your pictures give this poem a new dimension.

  • Harden sole, of a house made of shoe. I feel resentment at the foundation. Very well delivered, as expressed with authenticity.

Very reaching, as it strikes chords in every scale.

  • That poem has always been a punch in the gut, I especially noticed the powerful mix of sounds behind the reading and how you chose so many angles and images that stayed with the reading so well, I would never have thought one work could sustain the full extent of the poem so well. I wish you could upload in hidef though

  • Very cool and really well done Miso. sorry I missed this when you first released it.

  • Wow, very good. Well done.
