Eating Fried Insects in Bangkok

This is my first post to YouTube.. Filmed on my phone, this scene happened back in March - I went to Bangkok alone for a 2 week trip to try something new (I'm from London myself) while I was in between jobs - this is my first night there. I had met up earlier in the night with some nice Thai and Japanese people and we were looking for a bar to play pool - on the way we found a street vendor selling fried insects. Had to give it a go - I really could have done with a beer to wash it all down. Despite the heaving I managed to keep the insects down - just look at that big one - it probably is a cockroach isn't it! Oh well.. Shame the person I gave the phone to didn't capture much actual insect-to-mouth action due to shaky camerwork but anyway I'm glad I remembered to talk to the camera a bit. Note the Thai girls calling the Japanese guy a 'Ladyboy' at the start. I had a tiny (whole) frog after but it's not on the vid - it really did taste like Chicken! The insects didn't taste of much really... Btw is the vendor giving me the British 'two fingers' there? :-)

In the countryside of Japan, some stores have fried insects, but I have never eaten them.

I lived in Japan for 2 years before - both in the city and Inaka (countryside) - missed my chance to try there. Finally got round to it in Thailand :-)
