Cost of this helicopter ballooned because the Pentagon kept changing the requirements and adding more and more un-necessary bells and whistles. The cancellation of the VH-71 contract among others such as F-22, C-17, Constellation and JAGM is just another example of Obama destroying aerospace jobs - not just on the military side but in civil aviation too. 6,500 layoffs at Lockheed thanks to this man - hope and change!

Hands down..& it doesnt matter whose in the oval office...these helicopters where put into services when nixon was president! They're OLD!..

It's time to replace'em But, as for putting the project on hold. BAD IDEA!. Hell, these helicopters are so old that some of the parts for them can't get made for them..Thats how old these things are.

@People4eachother Actually, he walks to work, since the prez lives in this white house, which is both a residence and an office building. This helicopter is for those times when the prez has to be flown from the WH to an airport or out to Camp David. As for driving in general, it's better for all us regular people if he's flying because that means the Sec Service won't be shutting down roads and causing traffic jams.
