  • LOVE the arrangement...wish i could find sheet music of this..

  • The arrangement is by Col. Bramwell Coles of the Salvation Army.

I think it's the best arrangement there is.

  • I've never noticed singers using even 8th notes, but since musicians are usually reading sheet music based on the orginal Calixa Lavallée tune, I'd say that dotted 8ths followed by 16ths is "correct". (Try googling "o canada" sheet music)

  • The most sweet performance of O Canada

    Loved , loved and loved.

  • reminds me of world war 2

  • nice job me trumpeter =]

  • You will find many small variations between performances of the anthem. I think instrumental versions tend to be jazzier, while the anthem is more uniform when sung by a large group of people. Even the lyrics change ("thuh" vs. "thee", "thy" vs. "our") Keep in mind that people have had a couple of beers by the time the anthem starts at a hockey game. :)

  • I noticed when Canadians sing O Canada at hockey games they sing the center section with even eighth notes ("With glowing hearts, we see..."). But marching bands and other official types of instrumentation perform those notes as a dotted-eigth followed by a sixteenth note). So what's the correct version for O Canada?

  • Keep this tradition going! Losing a musical program which can benefit the community would have social consequences later down the road as I saw in the UK when I visited last week.
