This is the first few minutes from a rehearsal of Temple High School's state championship entry in the UIL One-Act Play contest for 2007. Please note this rehearsal was for a publicity photo shoot, so you will see a photographer and flashes at times, but it will give you an idea of what the play was like.

  • The frilly ankle socks and patent leather shoes that Tina wears are hilarious on a guy.

  • @ipodfreak24

The fact of the matter is: the rules used to allow for this, they do not anymore... and the publisher gave them the rights to do the show without the music. It was legal. HOWEVER, the University Interscholastic League has seen the error in their former ways and have changed the rules so that there will be no more of this nonsense...

    That's the end of that.

HOWEVER, this show was absolutely PHENOMINAL. Kudos to all involved.

  • @debbylet1 well we did the musical in a 45 minute cut....the comp has the same rules as yall do....its still awful...and u dont do a musical in the verison of a play just to save on time..u do a play...u could get sued if u dont have the rights to cut that stuff out...i know more than you...shut up

  • @HeyLookABird814 i totally agree! i was there with friendswood's one act play but these guys in the 5A competition killed me!!!

  • @ipodfreak24 if you understood the rules of the texas one act play competition... you would be much less judgemental of the cutting. you only get 40 minutes on stage from the time your first light or sound cue occurs til your last... a second longer and you are disqualified. to this day, it was the most brilliant show i've seen at tx oap state.

  • @ipodfreak24 You understand that this was for a one act play and had to be done in minutes, right? Doing the music wasn't practical. Nice to know you're so insightful that a five minute snippet during a photo shoot was enough to evaluate the actual production.

  • we did this show at my school in NC and went to our state competition ...but we actually did the music.. I played Sylvia st. Croix and man were we good! this is a joke...a complete and utter disgrace to the show and its writers...this is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

  • To this day, I still say that this is the absolute funniest show I have ever seen. You guys inspire me. :-)

  • You all were great! I saw this at state, amazing stuff!

The director of this play, Mr. Stanely, is our director now. He is so amazing. We are doing the musical Cinderella at the moment. :]

I wonder why he left y'alls school...you guys are wonderful! Not that I'm not thankful, but it's fair to your school.

    End of rant. :]

  • our school tried doing this..

We past zone because the judge "didn't think comedies were that great" or sometging.

    Great cutting. :)
