Is there any historical evidence to support the Bible's claim that the ten plagues leading to Hebrew exodus did indeed occur? The answer may be found in the 13th century B.C. Ipuwer Papyrus.

  • The problem is The Torah was actually written 400 years after the Ipuwer Papyrus, so it's just retelling the Ipuwer Papyrus at a later point with a Hebrew political slant placed upon it.

  • @ed12261972 Moses, the author of theTorah was born 1526, say Christian scholars. The date of the Ipuwere payyrus is disputed, though the 13th century has long been accepted. Modern scholarship, influenced by its denial of the miraculous, have opted for a 1850 to 1600 BC date, thus preceding the Torah. The inference is that the Torah isn't inspired but only recounting a legend. Biblical scholars who believe in inerrancy, reject the modern, we believe, biased date of Ipuwer..

  • @Ads4Christ Of course there's no real evidence that Moses ever existed or that anything in The Old Testament was ever anything more than a ripoff of earlier texts. This is what the majority of accepted scholarly opinion says and there's no real reason to believe it's wrong.

  • @ed12261972 I respect your opinion. However, "scholarly opinion" also embraced the East Anglia man-made global warming deception. The sad reality is, more times than not, ones vew is predetermined by the bias one begins with. That, many other scholars believe, is what was behind the rejection of the 13 century date for Ipuwer.
