  • I remember as a kid reading in the newspaper a dicussion over the name. I wanted it to be called the Philadium. It was named Veterens stadium in honor of the war veterens. It fit in with the area since there was the navy yard and the Naval Hospital that across the street. At the time there was a lot of military housing in the area as well. The building of the stadium was done on tax dollars alone, so there was no bank involved.

  • Madonnas people told my people I couldn't use her song and You Tube removed my audio...FU Madonna

  • what song did you used to have here, that madonna didnt want you to use?? And your not a company anyway are you? So what is the most they could do if you didnt take the audio out? what have your video taken down??

  • It was, This Used to Be My Playground. I had no choice in the matter, You Tube removed it.

  • I agree with the posters here, it's a great video. I'm from Pgh and think just like the Vet, 3 Rivers could still be used for football at least. It's such BS for the taxpayer to subsidize football stadiums that get used perhaps 20 days a year. Also how these type of stadiums were replaced only for business reasons to justify charging twice as much for tickets and to placate the rich with all the luxury boxes we subsidize as they're allowed to write off the cost as a business expense.

  • Thanks for the comments on the video.

The Vet is now a parking lot. I would have loved to see them somehow keep the outside structure intact, and build a multi-level garage on the inside.

  • CBP!!! LINC!!!!

  • Was outside the Vet back in the mid 1970's when the Eagles played the Cowboys on a Monday night.

Joe Lavender had just picked the ball up after a Cowboy fumble and scooted 98 yards for a TD.

The ground shook and you thought the Vet was going to collapse.

    RIP 700 Level

  • Saw paul mccarteny in early '90s and my step-dad was one of the men who built it back in the '70s....why did they call the new stadium the vet? Banks have to put thier names on everything!!

  • @711711711711711711 Do you take that comment back now? lol

  • What has this nation become? No respect for the Veterans

  • Ive never been in the Vet but ive seen picutres of it. it was wierd. I like Citizens bank park better

  • @oilcitydog Steelers like philly needed a new staduim 3 rivers was falling apart, no really it was. At the end of its lifespan a sections of brick started to crumble in diff parts around the staduim. It was either spend 100 million for repairs and upgrades or spend an extra 100 million on a brand new staduim.

  • was the NFC championship against tampa the last eagles game in the vet?

  • to bad the eagles team was not in there
