In the 1970s, the United States' fertility rate was at replacement level, but beginning in the 1980s, federal law began to allow more than 1 million new immigrants to enter our nation every year. Add to that the nearly 700,000 illegal aliens entering our country annually, and it adds up to a population that's growing at a rapid rate. According to figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, our population could come close to 500 million by mid-century. http://ChangeTheNumbers.org

  • Whats the deal with all these immigrants anyways? Maybe they want us to become overpopulated like China or somethin. We have plenty of real Americans here at home.

  • I saw where CNN is asking the public to leave questions they can submit on youtube to the climate change summit.

Here is the question I left.

"Why is there no option for the USA to have an immigration moratorium to reduce its carbon output? The USA grew 100 million in last 40 years, nearly all via immigration. Usa population would be nearly stable without mass immigration."

go to CNN and leave your own question for climate change

  • OVERPOPULATION is a HUGE problem. This is not just because of immigration, but also due to uncontrolled birth rate. China has population control, India is just starting up. US will not be third, but more likely in the top 10 to start population control, it is a good thing in general.

  • Another reason to be a proud American, everyone wants in. We have by far the highest immigration in the world! Everyone wants to be American! It's a wonderful feeling.

  • wasn't the population of the Americas at a stable level before the Europeon community "immigrated" to North America? If people want to live in a propsperous America there will always be more incentive to get into this country than there will be incentive+ability to keep them out

  • @principecautivo no, reducing illegals IS the solution. if you want more than one kid then go for it. i have nothing against any immigrant or ethnicity and i know they're just trying to find a better life. but at the expense of our own people? BULLSHIT. it's so awesome that millions can't find work because illegals work for next to nothing then send all their money home. i support Arizona in their fight. and hope America is still a great place to live for my children in the coming years.

  • Reduce the illegals population is not the solution. THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO HAVE JUST ONE SINGLE BABY, THINK ABOUT IT. IF YOU, A COUPLE HAVE JUST ONE BABY YOU WON'T SPENT SO MUCH MONEY SO YOU WILL GIVE TO YOUR (ONE) BABY THE COMPLETE LIFE QUALITY THAN TWO BABIES. remmember that "latinos" let the economy get better becouse they work hard and they have works that "we the americans" doesn't like GOD BLESS YOU

  • we are working on our 11th child and plan on having more children !
