In-depth review of Rise of the Triad (ROTT for short), a classic game released by Apogee AKA 3D Realms in 1994.
Rise of the Triad runs under an improved Wolfenstein 3D engine, and has a lot of fast-paced action and is just awesomely silly.
(Rise of the Triad)
i loved this game. its a shame, i feel left out of this new gaming community, having abandoned video games for so long. im nostalgic when it comes to the early and mid 90's PC games, as well as 3DO. but i dont know if i have the energy to get back into it.

Nah they used wolfenstein engine because doom was still not complete at that time and rott was made by ID and Apogee but ID canceled their project with apogee dunno why.
The only company ID loved working with was/is raven software ID worked on heretic and hexen and then later hexen 2, soldier of fortune 1 etc....

@SandersonCallum Once again, the Doom engine was made around 1993 I'm guessing because 93 was when Doom 1 came out. The ROTT engine was a highly modified Wolfenstein engine and ROTT came out early 95 or somewhere along in there.. So maybe when the Doom engine came out, maybe they could not incorporate it. Im not really sure. If I worked for Id Software or Apogee I would know for sure.
