Ford & International Diesel Busses

These busses were at the auction I went to today. The IH bus did run good and it sold for $600 and the two Fords I think sold for $500. The fords were having injector pump problems. Since I already had busses and didn't have a driveable pickup truck I decided to pass on the busses and buy a Ford pickup truck instead.

do you own a diesel bus or they all gas?

I actually don't own any diesels, they are all gas.

Chad, it would be neat if you could work at getting the best of your buses ready for inspection so you could drive it further than your yard. I think most places make a distinction between a bus thats driven to carry passengers and one that doesn't, and it determines what type of license the operator has to possess.

I will have to do that...The 1978 International bus has its insurance policy kept current but needs its tags and inspection renewed. I did drive it out on the road several years ago but now it needs the carb rebuilt. It was actually driven out to my place. Eventually I would like to get the other ones in road-worthy condition (tires and brakes are the biggest problems) but at least they have been saved from the junkyard. They had not driven on the road in many years and were towed to me.

@retrochad I wish I could've saved my 86 and 87 GM buses. They were sold to a Cash for Clunkers junkyard

When I see these buses, I wanna get one and convert it into a Mobile Home thingy; But I dont have the time, money and space for it ;-(

that diesel engine looks like a 5.9 cummins engine with the individual valve covers

and it is a 12 valve engine.....not the newer 24 valve

they call it the 6 B engine
