Yeah I have a 3DO, I bought it at the end of it's life when it got cheap in price. Also, think of this, Developers are the people who have the know-how to make that "ARCADE ACTION" feel. It isn't the people who carry on the torch, So no matter how advanced the graphics on a console are, it's always gonna boil down to this...Who can make the coolest concepts. I like Treasure best and they anounced that they are making 2 Wii titles. I look forward to their next gen-Arcade-action game.
Yep, Treasure must be good then, because I highly respect the Ninja Turtles Arcade, Simpsons, Bucky, and Castlevania 4.
Did you ever get a NEO-GEO? Man, the closest I've ever felt to owning an elitist arcade console is the 3DO. I own a PS3, but the NEOGEO alway felt like the most elite console on earth.
Treasure = Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Headdy, Guardian Heroes, Ikaruga, Radiant Silver Gun, Sin & PunishmentN64, Astro Boy GBA . They used to work for Konami developing Arcade and Nintendo games under the name of "Star Team"= Simpson's Arcade game, Teenagemutant Ninja Turtles Arcade, Bucky O'Hare Arcade, Contra 3 SNES, Castlevania 4 SNES, etc. I like the same unique Neo Geo games as you. They are campy and signature and explore the vast reaches of Platform/Shooting/action genres.
I've never heard of Treasure. Not sure what are some of the games they've made.
That's true. I almost forgot that SNK became to absorbed in fighting games. For me, Virtua Fighter is good enough and let's let it be at that.
My favorites are the old school NEO GEO games like Magician Lord, Nam, that robo warrior thing sidescroller....sigh....those were the days...When you could hear loud one liners all over the arcades at nightime...
Yeah the only company that feels like the old arcades is Treasure. In my opinion. Metal Slug is awesome, but everything else from SNK now is 1 on 1 fighting. I'd like to see a Ninja Combat 4 player type game with a lot of variety.
The high price seemed worth it at the time. Felt like high quality, especially when we all wanted to bring home the arcades in that day and age. The arcades at home was the goal.
I found this game to be very hard. I was pretty much stuck on the first level, but I've always rememberd this game as one of the most outstanding games during the Sega Geneis, SNES, Turbographx 16-bit era.
NEO GEO was over the top of all three consoles in game style, graphics, music, sound, and mystique.
Still have my NeoGeo:D The only two games I have are this one and Fatal Fury, love 2d games.

Over the top with price too. Now that the game cost as much, or close to, the SNES and Genesis on Wii VC, they are a bargan.
