i was exactly in your shoes at one point in my life, i was forced to be more social because of my job. At first it's awkward and i felt fake because regular people like to talk about small talk, and i honestly don't care about small talk, i prefer to just listen to my music and get my job done. Extroverts will never understand introverts, they will label you as arrogant or stuck up. So you either deal with those labels or learn to Bullshit with people.

Extroverts talk in social settings for the sake of pleasure (they can talk about ANYTHING, the actual content has little meaning).
Introverts talk in social settings for the sake of communication (the content has great meaning, and is deeply analyzed, which is why they don't enjoy small-talk).
In other words, introverts really open up when the talking is meaningful, and have a difficult time understanding the point of small talk. Whereas extroverts feel a sense of pleasure from it.
