In 2008 a young man from Manchester set off on a worldwide journey to break the boundaries, see the world and make a difference - somehow. These irreverent journals shuttle from the deserts of Namibia and UAE, to the urban metropolis' of Sydney and Melbourne, to the Great Barrier Reef and the Northern Tropics of Australia, to Santiago de Chile, a city still trying to come to terms with the 1973 US backed coup, to 'the heart of the Americas' in Cusco, to the mountains of Peru and Machu Picchu, seeing a Quechua race who are being ignored by the outside world. Then to the crime filled streets of Caracas, trying to understand the Bolivarian revolution and to the jungles of La Gran Sabana, volunteering with the local Pemón tribe. The trip culminates with the 'friend to the north' in Miami, which only serves to reaffirm the disparity between the have's and have not's.
