@houlala16 Not sure about all the contempt surrounding have and have not. The way I understand things to be is it's a globalized economy today which means technology is a universal function. The differences in each country and city are culture, applications(i.e. public transport and industries), and economic capacity or empowerment. Some places are very developed and some aren't. I'm enlightened by what I seen in some 30 other lands. Just haven't the time yet to process and upload videos.

My Korean engineer friend told me that the Korean Gov got conned into buying TGV from France. He said it was piece of shit and they should have bought German ones instead. So these ambitious Koreans developed their own (KTX2) I don't blame the Koreans. I don't know anything coming out of France worth buying except maybe wine.

korea Sucks!
Korenas cant build their own high speed trains...
This is French technology TGV and now they try to sell this all over the world..
Koreans are Thieves.You koreans criminals!
I understand the KTX2 is designed and built in Changwon. I agree with previous poster about German designs being better. I don't see a problem with borrowing technology to get an advantage as the Japanese PC computer and video games have been highly beneficial to us. If I were looking to build a new machine or set up a new factory in the US, I'd look at borrowing some engineering tech ideas from Germany and Asian countries while I enjoyed French wine, chocolate, and cheese during break times.

What I find funny is that these trains are running on tracks that weren't built for this kind of weight and speed. It was a pretty big issue in the Korean Media a few months back. I think it has something to do with the pins in the tracks having been manufactured in England/or duplicates of English Technology but the trains are French/duplicates of French Technology. Serious risk of derailment on these tracks but Koreans like to get the job done quickly without always thinking things through.

Yea, I heard that too, but it just went hush hush since everything seems to be working fine. They did say they were working on tracks.
Korea rushes everything when they decide on it, but they do wait until the last minute to plan and decide on most everything with communication being a huge problem in any work setting. Needless to say, this creates many technical mistakes and difficult relations with foreigners doing business with Korea on any level.

Yeah I know. They rushed their elections two years ago. The candidates only get one month to campaign as well and they threw about 8 different options at the country to choose from. Then they throw some criminal in office and then he fucks up everything to benefit the rich and further decrease positive steps to reunify Korea. Now you may as well see KTX speeding into a derailment off the tracks. Wonderful.

I do know exactly what you're talking bout jacob7207, but I'll stay out of their politics though since there are new laws restricting foreigners (and Koreans!) from talking K politics, especially online or in public, if residing in or working in Korea. The train is very nice, but obviously does not run like in Japan and Europe for safety reasons though is the most efficient way between Busan and Seoul at about 3.5 hours. Changwon city has a firm developing a new Korean designed bullet train.
