  • Such huge talent...

  • @marcmo2004 Thank you

    XD

  • Here's a suggestion - why doesn't sergelebon (no relation to Simon I suppose) put up a translation. We could have like a collaborative thing going on between Serge and Virtualmix. Oh and while we are at it, what about Gnrbile (I'm sure people are just making up these names and it's not their real names at all - a nom de plume, if you like - huh hay, get me, being all french and that) yeah what about Gnrbile doing a translation just to spare us mere English people. Oh and who is Au Suivant hunh?

  • @YouTubularBellEnd : I can provide the translation source file If anyone is interested into improving this translation. Just ask by email.

  • If one english person would listen to this song and read the lyrics he would have no idea how epic the lyrics of this song really are. I must say nice try in translating it but one will never get close to the real meaning of this song if you don't know (a bit) of french. Jacques Brel .. the greatest belgian who ever lived.

  • @Gnrlbile: I agree with you

  • putain qu'est ce qu'il est bon.

  • It is very rare I ever post comments - but Jacques Brel was so amazing and unique, I feel I have really missed something by not being around to see him perform live. Now I know that not only was Brel one of the greatest songwriters in history - he was also a captivating performer. Most of all, he has that quality that eludes all of our current performers: Passion.

From an Englishman! Brel was the greatest!

  • @Gnrlbile For sure the best french poet (for me) was a belgian (from some french dude). he puts emotions in every song i heard from him. If only every songs of Brel could be transalated in all language, people will see how great he was. (excuse my english is certainly not the best).

  • BEST BEST BEST!,,

  • J'ai appris le francais en ecoutant Jacques Brel ;-)

  • @mattimat2000 je suis d'accord

  • @titinette331 Hey, calme sur le Caps Lock.

    Ensuite, comprendre quoi ?

  • @Suriner1 TU DOIS ÊTRE TROP JEUNE POUR COMPRENDRE; DOMMAGE

  • Actually "je me deniaisais aux bordels" translates into " I was losing my virginity at the whorehouse".

  • @Gnrlbile I agree with you too !

  • A great song. I keep listening to it to remember (it's more humiliating to be the followed one!)

  • @Eddieboy1232
