  • The Power Perfect 2 heel is only 0.75 inches? I was told it was 1.25 inches. I own a pair, and was thinking of buying the Power Lift trainer as I low bar squat and the PP2's seem to throw me forward.

Are you sure that it's only 0.75 inches high? I've measured mine and it comes to a little over 1 inch whenever I do it.

  • @CelticAndProud You are measuring the entire heel and not taking into account what is actually the amount of life between the forefoot and the heel - that is the effective heel height. So if you measure the heel and subtract the height of the forefoot area, you end up with effective heel lift (height). Unfortunately you either need special tools to do this or you could just the shoe in half. Either way, effective heel height is .75" on PP2 and .6" on PL trainer

  • I'm more of an intermediate lifter. My deadlift is approaching 600 lbs and squat is just a shade under 500 lbs. I need to know if this is good for Olympic style squatting?

  • @LexingtonLanePlummer Not at those weights. You'll need to get something more professional. Risto, AdiPower Romaleo - something along those lines.

  • This is not the same thing as the Power Perfect 2 shoe which has a higher heel and its has a polymer heel! This is not the replacement to the IronWork 3!

  • @bujanda12 The Power Perfect II has a 0.75" heel made of a stiffer polymer material - correct. However, it is not a mainstream shoe at all and is quite difficult to find any vendors that carry it. Therefore, since the PL trainer was a mainstream release, it appears to be their official replacement for the Ironworks. I know, weird marketing but that appears to be what they've done. Probably because more people bought the AdiStar and they expect more will buy the AdiPower in 2012.

  • I really like the visual design, but unfortunately it's not for Olympic lifts.
