NATO Condemns North Korea's Nuclear Test

STORY:
North Korea carried out a nuclear test on Monday. NATO says it poses a threat to security and peace.

[James Appathurai, NATO spokesman]:
"Today the North Atlantic Council, that is all the 28 NATO countries, released a statement strongly condemning the nuclear and ballistic tests by the Republic of North Korea, the DPRK. They consider that these tests are a threat to peace, security and stability in the Asia Pacific region."

NATOs spokesman pointed out the repercussions of North Koreas nuclear test.

[James Appathurai, NATO spokesman]:
"They are highly destabilizing, they are in violation of what is in essence international law, U.N. Security Council resolutions. And they create mistrust and fear not just in North Korea's neighbors, but everywhere. They serve no purpose but to do that and North Korea should, that is the belief of these allies, abide by its international obligations, return to the six party talks and complete them in a way that ends with an end to the North Korean nuclear programs."

In an earlier statement NATO said it will closely monitor developments.

Yesterday North Koreas nuclear test was far more powerful than its first one, triggering an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting. The hermit state's defiant act is drawing condemnation from around the globe.

That is all the fault of China. China must stop North Korea from making nuclear immediately. If not China herself may get hit one day. N Korea nuclear weapon has no QC and might fly into China instead.

North Korea is such a small piece of land on the earth. How can it's leader not see that by threatening the real Super Powers of our globe that North Korea puts it's own self in "Check".

North Korea's leader comes across as behaving as a most genuine "Bully".

Bush listed N Korea on the axis of evil is what began this downward spiral. we had agreements with them that they violated for self defense once Bush declared them enemies. Iraq NEVER funded al-queda, we both funded and trained al-queda & the taliban. to carhac: first off we've done nothing to n.korea they threatened us and the first time we went to war with iraq was because they invaded kuwait and the surrounding countries asked us for help and we've also done nothing to iran and we're currently in iraq because they were funding al-queda so yeah we've been in all these wars in SELF-defense not because we're bullies

I did answer the question. non of the other countries in the region have nukes and neither did they initiate the hatred. before israel became a country, there was peace in this region between arab and jew, until it was decided jewish people deserved a state, weapons and backing of US and european nations. instead of peace, the new government chose power and used this to attack and drive out arab inhabitants. most arabs and jews want peace and justice. both governments stand in the way.
