@edwardjames50 OMG it was just an opinion, why do you care? When did I become obnoxious that you just have to reply like an asshole. And what does it matter if she's dead anyway? Actually, there are many more obssesive fans and they aren't necessarily Bette Davis' but thank you very much, I'll take that as a generous compliment. And Bette Davis isn't even my biggest obsession. She's my second. Vivien Leigh is my first. She was British, I wonder how SHE would have pronounced BETTE'S name!
@LexiixoxRoxx ~ OMG, she's dead, and who cares? Get in touch with her fans in the British Isles, and have them attend a class in how to pronounce her name. There is nothing more obsessive than a Bette Davis fan, as this conversation illustrates.
@edwardjames50 I understand that the name "Bette" is correctly pronounced Bet, however, in Bette Davis' case she pronounced it like Betty. Therefore, I believe she should be known that way. Nothing personal, just my opinion.
@LexiixoxRoxx ~ If you want to go by the rule book, it's a French name, and in French it is pronounced "Bet". And that's the way it's pronounced in the U.K. as well. As far as Miss Davis goes, her real name is Ruth Elizabeth, and in her youth, she was called Betty. She only chose that spelling for her stage name as an affectation.
@edwardjames50 Really? I find that very strange. A person's name shouldn't change no matter what country it's in. Bette Davis pronounced it Beh-tee so people should remember her that way. Oh well, I'm being fussy. Nevermind me.
BUT HUSH HUSH IS MORE INTERESTING
