Don Curry, our curator of restorations, demonstrates the magnetic drill on the bolster of steeplecab locomotive Atlantic Shore Line #100.

That is part 10 of a fascinating series by Phil Morse, another museum volunteer and the person responsible for getting the grant which made this restoration possible. The best way to find the presentation is to search for "asl 100 a1" then "asl 100 a2" etc. There are 23 parts in all - so get a good cup of coffee and settle in! The time it takes to view the whole series is well worth it.

Thank you for watching, I hope you will get as excited about this project as we are.
When we used to drill through old metal like that, my dad and I used cutting oil--20 weight in a small pump oil can.
