2011 Golf GTI I just reversed the brackets as shown In step 3 like the guy said below & it worked with the standard dampers took 10 mins cost JACK! Thanks..

didn't work for me, pressing the unlock trunk button doesn't even budge the trunk, you must push the VW logo. maybe because i have the rear camera so i need to change bits in VCDS first... i dunno.

I just installed the dampers and it works perfect! I got "replica" dampers so you don't need originals to get it to work. I payed 41 euro's for both (triscan 871067204 for skoda fabia)

You can just reverse the strut holder but it does not always pop open, does not open as far (bumped my head) but is free. Cannot order the euro struts from US dealer either. There is no little part to remove.

i just did it. But in another easier and cheaper way. I did't buy new dampers. I just turned this black parts like in step 3, and removed a little part around clamp and everything works perfect whithout costs. :) enjoy
