@annasimonovna I do hope the Darfuris and the South Sudanese expels my Chinese people from their lands. The more we can starve China, the sooner the regime will fall,.... I hate what this government did. Turn a bunch of desparate peasants into angry ogres. Sure blame the West for all our problems... *facepalm*.

"Money doesn't matter!?" Hypocritical BS from lazy, ignorant fat cats. I bet he drove to the protest in his Volvo and lives in a big house, too.

Actually, I doubt that, since this is in SF, where it is prohibitively expensive to own a car or a house.
I do agree that chanting "Money doesn't matter" is a little nonsensical here, but I don't see how you can call any of these people ignorant for being against genocide in Darfur, which is what they/we were protesting.

Where are they during the ongoing invasion of Iraq? Where were they during the genocide in Somalia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Croatia-Serbia, Kosovo? These are places where real atrocities occurred, but it isn't as trendy as "fighting the evil Communists."
Why aren't they protesting the Darfur government, who is directly responsible for whatever is happening there. Why don't they protest Saudi Arabia, Iran, Dubai, etc. for real human rights and religious oppression?

You obv don't know SF politics very well. This tiny protest is NOTHING compared to the massive anti-war protests that happen here constantly. It is actually NOT so trendy here to protest the Evils of Communists, because the city swings so far to the left, which is why you don't see MORE people at this protest.

They do protest the Darfur government. But keep in mind that China is directly arming the people committing these atrocities and doing everything in their power at the UN to thwart help for Darfur. Besides, despite China's quite direct connection to the genocide, the posters don't protest China, but simply urge China to change its policies with regard to Darfur.

I wholeheartedly agree that there should be more protests against religious oppression. I attended one here in SF in support of the Danish gov't when the world went nuts over cartoons.
