  • . . . an integral part of Schnitger's design, too.

What even further confounds me is the fact that there were no electric blowers or solenoids back then. Each key's tracker action was a wire cable that pulled out the "stop" under the pipe letting air in to make it speak. Combining multiple stops mechanically combined additional cables to the key. The resulting force needed to press down a key could be weighty - approaching ten pounds in some cases. Imagine a six or seven note chord!

  • Arp Schnitger built organs during Bach's time. This one is amazing in that the church has a decay time of seven seconds! Talk about natural reverb! I give one an understanding of how Bach wrote. It's like writing a piece for piano that has the sustain pedal down the whole time. He thought of how each new note would sound in the context of the notes played in the last seven seconds!

I theorize that the room's acoustics played a very major part of Bach's writing. It was . . .

  • Very strong mixtures...but nice pièce!

  • Oh my God! Such a wonderful pictures! Do you take them yourself? They are amazing, so nice, with such a good quality.

The whole vid is outstanding. Almost a work of art.

Could I tell you to upload an specifical rendition on this organ by Michel chapuis?

    Thank you for everything!
