Prime Minister John Howard admits to Neil Mitchell on 3AW this morning (26/10/07) that he broke his 2004 election promise to "keep interest rates at record lows". He says the advertising promising to "keep interest rates at record lows" only ran for two nights.
He is dead and gone, you clearly have not gotten over the loss yet? I suggest professional help.

It was CHANGED before they won govt so it wasn't an election promise! Unlike Rudd who promised a computer for every child in years 9-12 and has now already reneged on that promise.

It was changed after just TWO nites to 'Who do you promise to keep interest rates low?" and that promise was kept since there were only 11 rate rises in 11 years totally just 1.6%! Anyone who is going to go broke with that small a rise over more than a decade is living beyond their means anyway, and only has themselves to blame for being so stupid and not allowing for the possibility of rate rises.

Wow! look at all these stupid hateful comments from the Howard haters! An advertisement that lasted for two nites! and you want to make a big deal of it?? sheesh.. Just wait until Labor has been in power for even half the time that Howard was and see how many broken promises they make! Already Labors broken the promise of a computer for every child in years 9-12. That's now become access to a computer for every child, which is what they have now anyway, duh!

Nice. What an absolute stoat this bloke is. We all remember what he said last election - now he's claiming that because he didn't physically speak the words himself, it was not a promise.
