actually, if the wind stops blowing that wouldn't be as bad as suddenly getting gusty,,, also check out floaty big air, that shows what gliders can do in a light (maybe 9 mph) wind

is it a good idea to do this with a foil kite or dose it not matter

Some riders use foils, but they all have
1. new (or nearly new) equipment
2. lots of snowkiting experience
3, extra safety precautions including paragliding skills
