  • Good old William Holden, apaprently the shortest oscar speech in history, he simply but meaningfully said:

    Thank you very much.

What class he had! Fantastic actor! Well-deserved! Thanks for sharing!

  • William Holden should have won the award in 1950 for "Sunset Boulevard". Mongomery Clift gave the best performance in 1953 for "From Here to Eternity".

  • Monty Clift....robbed again.

  • @MonroeSmile The shortest is Alfred Hitchcock's "Thanks."

  • @jckfmsincty Absolutely agree...

  • @filmaddict818 really? hahaha, that's hilarious!! I guess it still stands though, the amount of times I've seen actors/ actresses cram in a billion names into 30seconds because the show is running is over time is ridiculous. Good old Bill! Thanks for sharing that knowledge!

  • @MonroeSmile I believe the only reason he saud that was because the awards show was running overtime, so he instead put an ad in the newspaper with his full speech. Also the next year he was told the oscars was running overtime when presenting an award to grace kelly (154, country Girl) and said, "It appears we're running overtime AGAIN!"

  • What a night that was.

  • Wow... Donna Reed!

  • thank you for posting all these memorable clips
