Kate and Anna McGarrigle are profiled on the CBC's "The Fifth Estate" on April 20, 1977, in a segment narrated by Adrienne Clarkson.
The presentation is amusingly dated in some ways but the segment is interesting because, even though it's very early in their public careers, it lays out quite clearly their attitude toward celebrity that remained largely unchanged from that point on.
There are some nice musical fragments as well as video shots of their family (their mother Gaby, Kate's very young children Rufus and Martha) and friends and collaborators.
Priceless piece of history - thank you so much!

What the hell do music critics know? Some things never change.
Proper musicians should not have to compromise and fit into a so-called image that their record company sets for them.
