Every emergency shelter in Sacramento is full to capacity and over 1,000 people are forced to sleep on the streets each night. Unfortunately, it is illegal to sleep outside in Sacramento. The City police must then treat anyone who is homeless as a criminal. This is that story. www.sacloaves.org/safeground for more info.
yup, business as usual, good PSA though, thanks for posting.

Thank for exposing this.
What are homeless help advocates doing to overturn this law, modify it, or find the space for homeless campers?
This is just another example of how big-brother/nanny state laws more often than not have bad unintended consequences.
Where are the so-called family values groups on this? Aren’t there like a zillion religious texts with orders to help the poor?

I am just so surprised that after Lisa Lings TENT CITY piece 2.5 years ago there has been NO progress. What is it with this country and ignoring the homeless. What will it take for everyone to WAKE UP to the inhumanity that is occurring right here in our country. I want to do everything that I can do to help! I will be posting this video everywhere that I can think of to help bring light to this issue. Please do the same. BE ACTIVE or nothing will change (116 views when this was posted)

Support the humane right to shelter and decent housing.. Link up the homeless rights movement with the refugee movement and all humane rights movements. Think global, act local. Be aware of non-profits who try to profit from helping the homeless. Be aware and suspicious. @Peta_de_Aztlan

I didn't see the billy clubs and riot police tearing down tents in front of Best Buy this last Christmas. Gee I wonder why?
