When we first started overnight and multi day hikes we stayed creeped out all night sleeping out in the woods. Funny though, over time you realize you are much safer out in the woods than back in population. ; ) c
Aww I wish my boyfriend would go with me in hikes like that. But he doesn't like nature or anything(plus hr likes to bitch) so Im going to go with my best friend instead! We plan on going thru the Colorado trail next summer(2012) and we plan on going on the AP the next summer (2013) RIGHT after our high school graduation! It's like a graduation present to our selves XD
i read Bill Bryson's book it was a great book. it was funny, and it teaches you about life on the trail at the same time. im to young to do the AT, but i will do it when i can.
I am a solo hiker so I know what you mean about seeing things at night :-) Just found this video and have added the book you mentioned to my Amazon wish list. Glad you mentioned the authors name. There are several "walk(ing) in the woods" titles. Thanks for the recommendation.
Nice to see you out there "doing" and not teaching (though that's much appreciated!). Bryson's book is great, just finished it myself! Thanks for the videos and great information!
You have to be the oddest preppy thru hikers in this forum. At least you did educate yourself. Pedophiles? In an Isolated area.. Try a simple Boyscout field guide for safety and protection. I wonder if you would survive a crisis. About 1/10 of the New Hampshire & Maine forest management budget is spent saving people for various reasons. Remember you'll be going into town? How did that work for you in NC, VA, VT, NH, & ME? Pillow? Orange trowel? You deserve credit since you did this lol How?

In the summer months all the American pedophiles are in Asia, where the US embassy allow them to run free and do their thing to the locals.

I read that book while hiking by myself in september of 2008. It had me cracking up so many times! I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming.
