This dyno test shows the GM Performance Parts CT525 getting thrashed to the max. All part of GMPP's efforts to make sure its crate engines are "bullet proof" before you drop them into your racer. The CT525 offers circle track racers a reliable alternative to other crate engines - at less than half the cost.

  • @levisnteeshirt why,,,,, do you,,,,,,,, talk,,,,,,,like,,,,,this.....? Also, use the correct grammar, you're, your, there is a difference. BTW, the ls uses computer electronics, far superior to these "digital" electronics you speak of, you'll learn more about these engine some day and eat your words, you are a neophyte, scared of what he doesn't know. Also, these heads are far superior to anything in the past, name one fucking GM head, even bbc that flows better than an Ls..

  • @undercoverLsX yeah ,, and you know what ,,, ain't nobody buying the damn thing

  • @levisnteeshirt

A stock ignition system uses a single coil with 30k volts dispersed to each cylinder.

An LS engine uses 50k volt coils to EACH cylinder, also, the wires are 'less messy' than this 'piece of shit' and there is no variance in timing since it isn't being driven off the camshaft, which means less moving parts. I bet you don't even know how cam walk effects timing. ALSO, these heads are FAR superior to the VORTECS that you keep throwing out there, they are good, but these are better

  • @levisnteeshirt

To answer your question, basically every first gen F body and Chevelle owner there is on Earth.

The ignition system is actually less complicated than any distributor can offer.

  • @zachlutes If this is all GM can come up with , its no wonder the Gov had to bail them out , they could have put an engine in this HP range that ,,,,, SELLS ,,, its what people want , ,, who ,, WANTS to deal with this ignition system ??? who WANTS to have to buy or have made headers for this ?? huh ?? got an answer ?? some Dr ,, ( thats a hot one ,, i think he stubles over his phd instead of knowing how to use it to better his organization ) a 9.300 block with a good head would be better

  • @levisnteeshirt Your comment was a bit difficult to parse so I'll respond with a few simple points. It's ok to resist change, it is human nature to be afraid of that which we are not familiar, you owe no one any apologies. I hope you can learn to accept that times are changing, and the SBC is on its way to obsolescence. Don't get me wrong, I love small blocks, but the LSX is a superior design and it's going to make a lot of SBC guys see that blue and yellow single cross flag. :)

  • @zachlutes uh oh ,,, nobody is buying the POS ,,,,, the LSX leaves alot to be desired ,,,, the ZZ 383 could have topped this engine IF , they had wanted it to ,,,, a 410 ci bowtie block crate engine might be something somebody actually wants ,,,, if GM gave them away ,, with new headers ,, this POS ignition system ,,, maybe they might get a few of them out on the track ,,,, who wants to go to the expense of this POS when 604's are blowing up ??? huh ??? got an answer smart ass ???

  • @levisnteeshirt Uh oh, this here ain't what my pappy taught me about... I'm scared of all this new fangled technology. Way back when the 265 was rolled out, people like you were scared of it because it was a flathead killer. The lsx is the gen 1 small block killer, be scared if you want, just stay out of the way.

  • GM could have made 550 hp easy with a Gen1 bowtie block ,, 4.155 bore ,, use the 3.800 crank out of the ZZ 383 ,,, it would be a 412 , put the bowtie 225 vortec head on it ,, ,,, it wouldn't require new headers , new ignition system , , , the LS motor has the oil pump in the front ,,, not circle track friendly ,,,, ,,, instead of GM giving people what they want , they keep wanting to push this crap that nobody wants ,,,,, its no wonder Ford keeps kicking their asses

  • @theantinignog for your information , i am a digital electronics and processor control tech ,,, so i know all well and good the failings of modern electronics ,,
