I wouldn't recommend going from heel-striking to fore-foot striking all at once.

Happy I stubled onto this film. Youtube is wonderful for this sort of content. My good friend was previously bullied. He explained he was going to get bigger. I chuckled... But then out of nowhere he added 40 pounds of 100 % pure muscle. He made use of the Muscle Building Bible - Google it. No-one dares to intimidate him now. :-)

I personally registered earlier this week. See what goes on. Plus the mans emails are excellent!

There is so much wrong with this. To eliminate heel striking you should land with the foot under the hip....like in chi running. Use proper form and you don't need such strong calfs.

I'm currently a forefoot runner but trying to get more of a midfoot strike as I have managed to erode all the rubber on the sole of my shoes in less than 1/2 a year. I have got much more calf muscle than most because of my running technique.

    Completely normal.

Running on your forefoot activates your calf muscles a lot more. Every time you strike down with your forefoot your calf tenses and takes the weight of your body rather than your joints when you lazily slam down your heel.

Doing 1km of forefoot running at 10km/h has taken my calves out for the past 3 days haha. I don't have small calves. They're actually massive for my weight and a disproportionate to my upper leg. Just not having been to the gym in ages will make them sore.
