  • don't get me wrong, i love tallest man but i'm not a big fan of this song, i hear a lot of his other material reused in this song, for example the melody of this song kind of mimics where do my bluebird fly and the the beginning finger pattern and chord are almost identical to sparrow and the medicine, im not dissing his talent or anythin. every great writer does this. if you listen to polly and dumb by nirvana, you'll notice they're the same song

  • @persbol I guess that every artist gets inspiration from other artists, that's the way it all happens :) Thank you for your message.

  • @FlorinSeven Your answer doens't really reply to his point..

  • @victorxb360 Indeed, English not being my main language, I misread the point that he influences himself in his own music ... well, the answer is nearly the same ... I guess that every artist gets inspiration not only from others but also from his own work, that's the way it all happens :) ... it's all an endless modified cycle. Thank you for your message

  • @barretogc and how about just buying his CDs or songs online and going to see him on stage live. Then, why not, watch the videos online if you want to see him live ?

  • This is staggering

  • @Bcal62988 yea man, it happens to everyone. tallest man and dylan are still fuckin amazing can't deny their talent

  • @persbol Yeah I've noticed that too...Also if you listen to Dylan's boots of spanish leather and girl from the north country its literally the exact same melody

  • @persbol I understand your point, but I want to make sure you know this song was on a 2006 EP and Bluebird and Sparrow were on his 2008 LP. That doesn't mean he wrote them in that chronological order, but I'd assume this came first.

  • the album in which this song is on, was his first. so that would mean he recycled it in the newer songs you speak of. just sayin.

  • @persbol The Tallest Man has similarities within all of his songs, just like every other artist. He tends to use three picking patterns for almost all of his songs with a variation of hammer ons and pull offs. He also uses a lot of the same vocabulary and themes in his songs. But, as you noted, you can say this about any other artist. These similarities in material are what differentiates him and makes him unique. If you read the lyrics alone of this song you have to admit it's pretty awesome.

  • @persbol That would be true except, I don't know how you don't know this, but over the hills was written way before the sparrow and the medicine. Still you're right about the nirvana

  • Its my birthday. and I decided to treat myself to the best present i could think of. tallest man on earth.

  • I love you Tallest Man! Thanks for coming to Bloomington, IN. Hope to see you here again sometime before I move!

  • @MelleB90 agree with the album version part.

  • As John Mayer said it best!Every song is copied, youre kidding yourself if its not,its about how its done.Get over your little difficulties and enjoy!
