Anyways, the number of attacks did drop rapidly and significantly, even more if we consider only attacks in our "neighbourhood".
There were quite a few prevented attacks, but either Afghanistan or Iraq operations did cause major problems to those organised terror groups, which operated in our countries.
It's also getting more & more acknowledged that most attacks take place in places, where either local tension are reason, or support comes from more far-away muslim countries (Pakistan, Saudi)

yes i got what the titel means but but also g.w.bush talks about freedom peace and humanity so i was not sure...; anyway i understood that it´s not an excuse for the war in iraq^^

no, you can make somebody believe something with statistics (not prove), but that's not the point here - it seems you're not really trying to understand my reasoning
if terrorism significantly, rapidly dropped after some event, that was supposed to lower it rapidly, this is hardly ever a conincidence
