Used to think fighting in hockey was entertaining then i realized the fights usually suck and end to someone falling on the ice, and that most players suck at fighting when on skates. Also all the good fighters take so many penalty's on average that it hurts the team in the long run. If i wanna see a fight i will watch boxing or mma, fights in hockey are lame.. I wanna see Datzuk,Gretzky etc playing some great hockey not some guys thinking they are tough getting in 2 shots at each other.

Even as an American, Cherry is right. The majority of America (Looking at you Bettman) doesn't understand hockey. Bret Hull's right too. Fighting needs to stay. The pads need to shrink. You don't get jacked up from the fighting, you get jacked up because the padding is so heavy now the checker doesn't have to be careful. Bettman needs to stop trying to Americanize hockey.
