This is a short test I did with Blender's new internal render engine Cycles and its integrated options for depth of field, transparency and glossy material. It was also my first attempt using fluid particles in Blender.

Additional information:
- 5k fluid particles
- 500 frames @ 24fps
- 100 samples per frame
- rendering took about 20 hours with CUDA -- quite disappointing considering the large amount of fireflies, but 200 samples didn't show much of a difference for almost twice the time. I was able to remove some of the noise with Gaussian Blur, though.
- GPU: GeForce GTX 460 (
- CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6GHz

  • great render, the scene was simple but had some really good details where necessary. happy cycling, er... blending! :)

  • And now we have to eat or go to hell? Yuck! :-))

  • Nice! To avoid the particles going everywhere, increase the number of subframes under physics.

  • What a mess!!! nice test.
