Very sweet playing, man. I admire you cool, fluid runs and tasteful note-bending. Your transitions between octaves is well timed and seamless. You've really got me going in a bluesy direction this morning! Now I'm off to break out my jumbo bass flute and get dizzy for a spell (it takes a lot of wind). Thanks for sharing, Brother!

Nice tone, beautiful phrasing, excellent fingering... a very fine performance. I like how you gradually build to wilder and more upbeat improvisational pace, without loosing the wonderful bluesy touch. Man, I aspire to play that well (sigh). Bravissimo!!!

He's much better than Hubert Laws. Or, any jazz flutist on YT for that matter. He's not even showing everything he's got.
Also, listen to his students. E.g. Silke playing Popp's Hungarian Rhapsody.

Hi Guentehr, sehr schoen dein blues! Gruss FJ

Technique is unique, that open hole slide down was awesome shit man! I heard a little of all the greats in your voice, Hubert Laws, James Moody, but definately have your own style. 5 stars ! Were you using any elec. effects besides the reverb?

hey...really awesome playing there!
You are NOT reading notes off a page are you?!
I am always in awe of musicians who can improvise in the jazz idiom...

Thank you for your nice comment!
I am reading the theme and then still look at the page while improvising to follow the chords. Maybe not really necessary, but gives me more confidence.

Had trouble watching (load problem)this for some reason. Have you ever tried putting your thumb more behind the tubing under the F key? Your thumb sticks out too far and looks like the balance is off some. Then you won't need and shouldn't need the black gadget to hold it right. You should be able to push the flute away from you for better balance.

You are perfectly right! I looked at Sir James Galway´s and Hubert Laws´thumb position and that proved you right. Nevertheless I do not feel unbalanced and it would distract me too much if I would work on changing this. So if you don´t mind I will keep that position. But thank you very much for making me aware!
