More than one third of vets returning home from war in Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering from PTSD.  A new treatment has emerged using service dogs to help treat mental illness but some say using service dogs for more than physical disabilities isn't a good idea.

  • Great Vid! I support veterans, service members and their families by working for the National Support Our Troops Campaign. They actually need to hire as many people as possible. This is a paid job and supports a good cause. To help and get paid too go to : nrotc(dot)org/30340.htm

  • Wonderful. I am awaiting my Service Dog for PTSD.

  • Ann Dunn is a moron.

  • @afflygal she doesn't know what its like to all of a sudden start thinking that you are out of place then out numbered and you need to fight or flee or maybe both- then you feel this dog licking your hand and looking at you and you know that he is trained to act like that when you are clicked on or zoned out. Then you see that everything is okay. He doesnt have to say anything and he will put his- her self between you and the other people and force you to interact with him/her.

  • @astaxdorado484 ive seen a service dog on a public trans bus before. theyre sooo cute. it was a pretty crowded bus and im surprised how well he/she reacted to the crowd. i was standing next to the dog and he ended up sitting on my foot on accident for about 20 min haha. it was cute

  • This is a great thing!

  • Ann Dunn needs to learn that psychiatric service dogs provide a service just as much as the dogs she trains. The dog does a different job. You don't have to be in a wheel chair or have a physical disability to need a service dog. She is ignorant and should educate herself on psychiatric service dogs. You can't lump them in the same category as emotion assist dogs.

  • Do you ever try to get on a bus

  • Service dogs are such a BLESSING to everyone that has ever encountered one! There is NO difference in my opinion, between "emotional" service dogs and "physical" service dogs! They all help our veterans and handicapped people! God Bless the Service Dogs, their Trainers, and everyone who has ever had need of a service dog!
