  • Great news!!! The turndown COMPLETELY solved my vibration problems. I also didn't have enough room for a turndown so I put cutout closer to the downpipe and turned it at an upward angle. I then had a custom turndown welded onto the flange that came with the cutout. Everything is tucked inside the heat shield underneath the car so you can't even see that I have a cutout or turndown unless you get the car on ramps. Are you on Audizine? I can send you pics of my setup to show you what I mean.

That's really great ews. Clever that you turned it at an upward angle to save space! Yes, I am on Audizine, do you have a thread up? I'll check it out soon.

  • I just installed a DMH cutout on my B8A4 downpipe and everything is great except I'm getting pretty bad vibrations WOT with the cutout open. Do you think adding a turndown pipe would reduce the vibrations? Have you had a problem with this? Thanks

  • @butterboarder

Yes I have the same issue, the vibrations get quite violent especially in my car, and things inside the cabin start to vibrate as well (paneling) at different frequencies. As for the turndown pipe, I don't believe there is any room to weld one on without scraping against the pavement. I was going to do the same thing but had that exact problem. The opening (cutouts) are still in the same, so a turndown pipe still wouldn't solve it.

  • Hey Mas, Im interested in a mod like this for my S5, that is still being built with delivery sometime in February hopefully. Is it possible to have a cutout installed to any exhaust with the ease of an adjustable button. I have that setup in my panamera turbo, but its part of the sport exhaust. Im interested in having a cutout installed with an AWE Touring Exhaust.

  • @TheCarSpot

Congrats on the S5, you'll have a blast with the car. Yes, for the most part it can go on any exhaust system. However, European cars tend have less room underneath so installing the valves was a bit tricky for that reason. Your turbo's OEM sport exhaust is most likely a more conducive setup right from the factory, where you don't experience power loss/gains when opening the valve, strictly just a difference in sound. That's what makes this setup different.

  • My audizine name is TCHUN003. Youtube won't let me leave a comment with the link, but the thread is titled: Installed an electric cutout on my downpipe
