It's James playing... what's wrong with Metallica fans? It's a clean guitar played with a pick. There is even another video related to this one... with the same tone and you see James playing his guitar. A bass can't sound that way.

Anyone who plays both guitar and bass will know that its james playing with a clean tone. You can hear his palm mutes. It's too high pitched to be played on a bass I mean come on look how low down the neck his fingers are. Lmao silly people.
