  • The art is so bad! XD I can't take my eyes from it, though. lol

  • @MartenFerret LOL! You serious!? This is considered AMAZING compared to what's on today. What's on today, they don't even bother trying anymore. If that's all it takes to be an animator, than I am overqualified.

  • @MADDOG6400 Hey, I'm an 80's child; I grew up watching this as well as the rest of that which comprised Nick's 'golden era'. I was commenting on the ART. I don't draw any better (see my DA), but then I'm not a professional cartoonist.

No, these shows didn't talk down to kids or try to cram any PC tripe down our throats (nor did the reply on flatulence for humor as many contemporary kids' shows do), but the art (in many cases) was horrible! XD

  • @MartenFerret So was I. I don't know, but I think animation in the 80s/90s was very well detailed compared to today (Ex: The people behind Tale Spin did a VERY GREAT job with the animation!) I don't know, I see art in today's cartoons and it looks like they don't even try anymore (Ex: Adventure Time with Jake and Finn.)

Yes, I agree. Even the dialogue is top notch compared to today's cartoons.

I'm not a professional cartoonist neither, but I'm basically going to school to be one.

  • @MADDOG6400 Bad analogy; you can't compare DIC to Disney. lol Other than that, I agree. In terms of scripting, I believe contemporary cartoons have edgier dialogue, but analyze WHY it's edgy. It's so because edgier shows are competing with PC garbage. Hence, should a character today say women belong in the kitchen, we'd all gasp. Back in the 80's/early 90's, such a statement be here nor there, thus the story itself had to be relied upon to attract and keep an audience. GL pursuing your career.

  • @MartenFerret Lol! Even though Cowboys of Moo Mesa and Sonic the Hedgehog (not the Disney one) were actually pretty great animation!

True! Even in 2010, Disney/Pixar is beating everybody!

Agreed. Times change so they have to keep up, but I also believe that they can at least try instead of being lazy about the dialogue. I mean the 80s was a new world compared to the 60s, but at least they tried and succeeded with it.

Thank yu! I hope to have my shows on Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon someday!

  • Awesome show, did you know this was made in Japan? it's a fact and TMS who did Akira, Castle of Cogliostro and that sort of thing did the animation for some of DIC's productions. Cleo was quite sexy for a cat chick.

  • @MADDOG6400 Tell me you have a DA. I'm interested to see what you can do.

  • @InvaderPet Well, I'd be more inclined to believe dump history because the lyrics preceeding are, "The gang will reign supreme, and no one can deny-y-y-y," making dump history fit better than he'll make a mystery, since the previous lyrics talked about "the gang." This is making my head hurt, heh.

  • @RetroBoyWontDie There were a couple of Fox Family episodes, where the captioning said, "He'll make a mystery", instead of "They'll make dump history".

Also instead of "You'll find in each calamity", the captions said, "Defying them meets calamity".
