*Part 2 of 5, episode 11, season 3 - 'The First Christmas'*

The Frankels, a Jewish family including father Itzhak, mother Zara, 10-year-old son Aaron and baby Gisela, drive their wagon into town one day as townsfolk are assembled to decorate the town Christmas tree. Though Brian befriends Aaron, Itzhak and Zara are, except for Mike, Sully and the Cooper kids' extended hands, initially met only by unfriendly suspicion.

I really like to see someone honest on the show. espeacally a jewd. they got such a bad reputation to be greedy.

He is so condescending. "Alright, if you prefer blisters." Come on, they have their own ways, no reason to be judgmental. And that woman, she is unable to accept any kindness and is very rude to Dr. Mike, giving a whole lecture when she is just inviting them for supper. She did not even know if Dr. Mike was aware of Chanukkah being celebrated the same time as Christmas.

But then again, this is an American show, portraying the US as a blissful country where intelligent people are open-minded...

I think the mom totally had a point. I agree with her. And Dr Quinn would struggle if her kids were singing antichrist songs or something, it's the same for a Jew. Christ was their anti-Messiah.. Naturally seeing her son sing about him would be like blasphemy, as that's what the Jews considered Jesus to be.. Would be sad for a kid though that doesn't understand; he should have been taught more.

In some ways I agree and disagree with arron's mother. Even though I don't believe in their religion they have a right to not want their son being involved in another religious activity. However she doesn't have to be harsh towards dr. Mike about it, she could still be friendly and open to other people without going against what she believes

I think it's extremely inappropriate to make a Jew sing Christmas songs. Especially when the child doesn't really know that what he's singing contradicts his beliefs.

it is so annoying that Dr Mike always wants to be friends with everyone...jesus, just accept the fact that not everybody wants to be friends with you, it is perfectly alright and normal
