I don't mean to be 'that person' who replies to youtube comments... but I've noticed this huge divide between Origins and DA2 fans since finishing both games. And I don't get it? I loved both games - I love the whole universe these stories are set in. The books, the games, etc. Is it just because you aren't a grey warden in the second one? Or are people mad about the Anders ending like they were mad about the ME3 ending?

A Dragon Age fan is a fan of both DA:O and DA2... if you were trying to make a point it would be better to say "Any Dragon Age: Origins fan or a Dragon Age 2 fan.." Besides I don't get why people complain so much about the 2nd game.. The combat was better and the story was very good as well.. Yes it ended openly but so did the first game.. and it just leads up to the third game that will be here next year

I definitely agree. There is no denying that DAO is the superior title, especially since it is the spiritual sequel of Baldur's Gate :D However, I agree that DA2 was still a pretty good game. I especially liked what they did with the story. The standard Hero's Journey plot is always good, but it's nice to see game company branch out a bit and try something different.

DA2 deviated from DAO significantly: new art style, different combat style, completely different story and location, different dialogue options etc. Even before launch a number of vocal people decided to hate on it and carried through with that. Nothing anyone says can change their opinion.

Personally I also think DAO was the superior title, because DA2 featured too much repitition and wasn't on par in terms of dialogue. But the sequal was still a decent game with its own merits.

Yeah, I just read back through some of his earlier stuff and he's a dick. Forget what I said earlier.

Well, maybe that guy's a dick but that's the only context I've ever heard that term, as an respectful endearment rather than a slur. Like Americana, Britpop, J-Pop, Mexibread and some others that I can't quite think of right now because it's early in the morning and I'm tired from being chased round by villagers with torches and pitchforks.

Most people know enough about WWII and basic racism problems (since it wasn't that long ago in terms of generations, I have grandparents and uncles that still use it because honestly they're horribly racist) that they should be aware of what nicknames are not okay. You can criticise a company or a movie without "accidentally" using a well-known racial slur that arose out of tragedies that are still remembered every year to this day.

I think that may have just been mistyped, it should be Japanimation. A portmanteau of the words Japan and Animation. IT's not meant as an offensive term, especially as it's usually followed by "...is awesome".
