Japan tells citizens they have no right to live a radiation free healthy life while refusing to test children's urine and answer why Fukushima radiation standard differs from the rest of Japan.

This video attached to this page was released directly following news that Japan passed a new law to cleanse the internet of "bad" Fukushima news.

The English subtitle transcripts are as followed with the Nuclear Safety Commission Of Japan rep labeled politician and the questions from the public labeled as citizen. (Full transcripts at first link, YouTube does not allow enough space for them) [July 19, 2011 - Corasse Fukushima Fukushima City] Citizen: As other people do, people in Fukushima have a right to avoid the radiation exposure and live a healthy life too. Don't you thinks so? Politician: The government has tried to reduce radiation exposure as much as it can. Citizen: You didn't answer his question! Citizen: So you are saying that the don't? They have that right, don't they? Politician: I don't know if they have that right. Citizen: What!? Citizen:You don't have that right either? Citizen: You yourself think you don't have a right to a healthy life either!? Citizen: Answer Me! Citizen: You think that people in Fukushima have no right!? Citizen: Do you mean there is a difference in radiation exposure between Fukushima prefecture and other prefectures? [Akira Satoh Director of the local Nuclear Emergency Response headquarters] Politician: What I am saying is, the government of Japan has done as much as they can to reduce radiation exposure Citizen: The government isn't applying a different radiation exposure standard to people of Fukushima, is it? Politician: I have already said all I can say. Citizen: What!? Politician: [pushes microphone away] Citizen: There are people in Fukushima who want to evacuate. Please take responsibility to evacuate them. Politician: [silent] Citizen: Please respond with a comment. Politician: [silent] Citizen: Please respond. Politician: Well, you are free to evacuate at your own risk if you want to. Politician: If people live in a safe place, the government asks them to stay there. Citizen: This is an emergency now, isn't it? Citizen: Is Fukushima city "safe"? Citizen: Even in the communist bloc, the Soviet Union evacuated people promptly in Belarus at the Chernobyl accident. Citizen: Why on earth cant' Japan, a free nation, do the same thing? Citizen: Even the Soviet Union did that! Citizen: The Soviet Union evacuated 240,000 children in two weeks! Politician: [silent] Citizen: What on earth has the government been doing in the last four months? Politician: [silent] Citizen: Shame on you! Politician: [silent] Citizen: Why on earth did you come here? Politician: [silent] Citizen: We would like you to test the urine of children promptly.

  • This man at the end really touched my heart. He was so desperate and brave. But they just ignored him like he was no human.

They didn´t answer the questions of the people, just left the room like people have no rights!

    It´s sick!

We know people in fukushima are going to be ill cause of the high amount of hot particles in the area! The goverment wants to collect data about the influence of hot particles and radiation on human health like it an experiment and their citizens are laboratory rats!

  • This video is crazy how real it is.

  • Lets not rule out that there may also be the possibility that these people on the panel know the true reality of the Fukushima disaster yet cannot report it because of what a completely hopeless situation it truly is. Imagine having to tell people that things are so bad for all of them, so hopeless, they would prefer not to speak. And the official who told them that "You do not have a right to radiation freedom', may have been stating that from their dire and hopeless situation in Japan.

  • The governments of today's world seems to only deal with foreign affairs. Aren't there private companies that could come in and do testing? That's how I would assume this should have been done. They kept saying "we are not in charge of that", it's not his job. He's probably watching his own ass by saying that. There are people more powerful than him that would probably put him in prison for saying anything he isn't supposed to say.

  • Something tells me a "free nation" is exactly that, you are responsible for yourself, while in communist regimes, the nation is responsible for you, whom are essentially the property of the state.

  • where the turtle ninja who love to save good people ?

  • one word: WOW

  • The guys that refuse to answer the people's questions, nor take that poor man's urine... ARGH! They really need to pull the stick out of their asses, and get a heart. Which I seriously doubt they have one. (>_<)

  • @K1DNEYTH1EVE What the fuck are you talking about? Just shut up and leave room for the important stuff.

  • And i thought that japan had a carying goverment that would help the people of fukushima as much as posible :(

This rly gave me a moment to think about my opcoming vecation to Tokyo in 4 months.

  • wow. I can't believe how they just ignored the questions. Let's just say that they can't answer those kinds of questions, then why would they even held a conference if it is only going to be like that?? they should have somewhat anticipated the questions so that they can answer them. shame on those officials!
