When we adopted Ruby on September 11, 2010 the agents from BLM thought she was pregnant and due very soon. She was showing signs and her bag looked full.
Because of her capture date and the gestation period of a burro/donkey, she was due in September. Nothing happened and we figured a false pregnancy.
6 months later, a neighbor driving by stopped and told me she was foaling. Here is video from very shortly after delivery until she first nurses.
We think it is a she. Yes I know how to tell, but Ruby is very protective and still in our book wild.
