TERA Online has finally revealed their E3 2011 behind the scenes media coverage and OnRPG couldn't be happier! Now we can share with you what blew us away and made TERA Online the game to watch in 2011!
Open world pvp will be dead, since they caved in and added casual LFG teleport-to-dungeon bullshit, and battlegrounds.
Anyone in power will just be voted there by mass leveling guilds and just drain cash from everyone.
You cannot enable open world PK because there's now PvP and PvE servers where the ruleset is forced, not that it matters since everyone will just be sitting in town waiting for their queues to pop.
and also with basic items having an npc or players that are able to payed to stock the shelves of the shops with basic items while those working at the shop or someone from outside wiil have to bring in other items. By someone from outside i mean players selling items to the shop. these are just ideas i've had just to make the mmo a more social experience because through a few i've played the community has been pretty weak and it's been mostly a solo for me as grouping hasn't been needed
I'm just happy it giving players more power in the actual way the game works and I'm just starting to see a game reminding of the hack series the world which wasn't a true mmo but was kinda of what i had been hoping for. Not so much just lvl up and then do alerts but with real people playing a bigger role. I also wonder how player shops are going to be influenced are we going to be able to buy a permanent location building people can come to shop for items and have players employed.
i also think the politcal system will have people that try to mess it up but i think they will keep it undercontrol so that players have only so much power. if they get this right it will make a fantastic game
I'm not sure how to feel about the whole "put players in jail" thing. One the one hand it might be cool, but would really fucking suck to be on the receiving end of it. On the other hand, given what I know about game design and MMO communities in general I can safely say that the feature will be on the cutting room floor or already is, which is a little sad because it seems rather novel.
